Privacy Policy

Stormglass is a planning intelligence platform operated at stormglass.app. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this service. Contact us at wojciech@stormglass.app for any privacy-related enquiries.

Waitlist signups: your email address, submitted when you join the waitlist. Legal basis: legitimate interests (operating the waitlist and contacting you when access opens).

Account data: when you sign in, we collect your email address and name via Clerk (our authentication provider). Legal basis: contract performance.

Analytics: if you accept analytics cookies, we collect page views, session data, and feature usage via PostHog (EU-hosted). This data is pseudonymous and linked to your account where you are signed in. Legal basis: consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the cookie settings below.

We use two categories of cookies:

• Strictly necessary: authentication session cookies set by Clerk. These are required for the service to function and do not require consent.
• Analytics: PostHog cookies that track usage patterns. These are optional and only set after you accept analytics via the consent banner.

To change your analytics preference, clear your browser's local storage for stormglass.app and refresh — the consent banner will reappear.

• Clerk — authentication and waitlist management (US, with EU data residency options)
• PostHog — product analytics (EU Cloud, hosted in Frankfurt)
• Vercel — hosting and edge compute
• Neon — database infrastructure

Each processor is bound by a Data Processing Agreement and processes data only on our documented instructions.

Waitlist email addresses are retained until access is granted or the waitlist is closed. Account data is retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion. Analytics data is retained for 1 year.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time (for analytics)

To exercise any of these rights, email wojciech@stormglass.app. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users.
