About Stormglass

Intelligence for London's built environment

Stormglass is a planning intelligence platform built for architects, developers, planners, and researchers who work with London's development pipeline. We aggregate, enrich, and surface data from the Planning London Datahub so you spend less time in spreadsheets and more time understanding the city.

The platform is independently built and maintained — not a corporate product, not funded by advertising. Our interest is in making London's planning data genuinely useful to the people who shape the city.

What we do

Built to close the information gap

London's planning system generates a vast amount of public data. Very little of it is easy to use. Stormglass bridges that gap.

Data, made legible

The Planning London Datahub contains hundreds of fields per application. We parse, normalise, and present the data that actually matters — units, GIA, tenure, density, constraints.

Projects, in depth

Beyond raw applications — a curated directory of major schemes with drawings, GIS constraints, planning timelines, and delivery metrics in one place.

London-wide context

Borough-level delivery against London Plan targets, density mapping across the pipeline, and spatial tools that connect applications to place.

Access

Choose how you use Stormglass

Core tools stay free. Deeper functionality — search, exports, density tools, and alerts — is available through Studio access.

Work with us

Stormglass is a small, open platform. We're interested in working with people who care about London's built environment — whether that's a joint research project, a data integration, or a long-form piece of analysis.

If you have an idea or a need, get in touch. We'd rather have a short conversation than a long form.

Research Partnerships

Joint analysis of planning data — density, affordability, delivery — for academic or industry publications.

Developer Intelligence

Custom pipeline monitoring, competitor analysis, and site search support for development teams.

Local Authority Support

Help councils understand their own pipeline data and benchmark delivery against the London Plan.

Data Integration

Connect Stormglass data to your own platforms — GIS systems, CRM, reporting dashboards.

Community Content

Write a deep-dive, contribute a project case study, or collaborate on a topic brief.

Technical Collaboration

Building something in the planning data or proptech space? Let's talk about shared infrastructure.
